On May 12th 2008， a strong earthquake struck Wenchuan， a small town in Sichuan． There hadn’t been such a heavy earthquake for about 100 years． And a great number of people were caught in it． Owing to this disaster， nearly all the water and electricity supplies were badly damaged． Moreover， many tall buildings including some of the school buildings were destroyed． What’ worse， many people lost their happy life and many children lost their happy childhood．
Facing this disaster， all the Chinese cannot help crying with a feeling of sadness， and they tried their best to support the people hit by the earthquake in Sichuan． Many volunteers joined the team aimed at rescuing the wounded． And many policemen and doctors were fighting with the disaster in the place where health care was badly needed． But more importantly， the key to the reason why we can be successful in fighting with nature wasthat the people of disaster areas who had a forceful volition． They did as much as they can to cooperate the PLA and fight with the disaster with a strong grief of losing close relations and friends． Strong， proud and united， the people were the modern heroes of China． They showed the world that we Chinese never be afraid of anything． So the world thought highly of the extraordinary ability in rescuing the wounded．
As time goes by， the people in Sichuan as well as the rest of Chinese are trying to rebuild their home． To our happiness ， most of the people get their second home ．
Thanks to the PLA and the leadership of our Party ， all the things go well．
May the people there live a happy life and bring their beautiful city back to life in the near future．

The day before yesterday I chatted with one of my Swedish classmates Jasmine. I told her how much homework I had everyday. Guess what she said! “ Phoebz if I were you I would not choose to be a Chinese in my afterlife.” But you can not choose what you want to be can you? I was born in China and I am Chinese it can not be simpler. Jasmine does not need to study for a living but Chinese do. Life is unfair that is how it works.
I miss my childhood when I was little I did not have to think of all these stuff. I was a cheerful person. But now things changed. I have to bear all the pressure. Yesterday I got my test results. I got such low a score of 82 points. That was a great shock to me. It is weird; I had good grades in primary school. What is happening to me? I went home with Ann. She got 75 points. But she did not seem to be sad. On the way I asked her why suddenly both of us got low scores. She said it is natural. Sanfan is a good middle school and in primary school we were good students but not the best. So of course among all the golds silver would not be as precious.
It was autumn cold wind blew into my bones it blew into my heart. Drops of water fell on my hand. It was raining I thought. Rain drops must have fallen into my eyes because I can feel it wet. Everything went blurry. Some thing stuck in my throat my lips trembled. When I wiped the tear off my eyes and looked up at the sky everything was clear; it did not rain after all.
I miss my childhood. I miss the good mood. I miss the happy faces. I miss the lively little girl. But everyone has to grow up. When I went to school I missed the life in preschool. Now I am in middle school I miss the life in primary school. Maybe I am someone who can never be satisfied.
Today when I woke up everything looked so nice. The sun shines it is a whole new day and a whole new life.

As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News， I visited Dr。 James Gilman， the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England。 In this picture， this is James， and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth。 This is a true story。
65 years ago， James lived in Qingdao。 Then he was only 5 years old。 He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there， which he thought was a dragon。 He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure。
In the late 1930s， when the Japanese occupied Qingdao， his family had to leave。 On his last day in Qingdao， he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon’s mouth。
He kept the tooth for the next 65 years， but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life。 It was always on his conscience， and the feeling intensified as he became older。 Finally he decided to put right his childish error。 In 2002， he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies。 He received a warm welcome。
When James visited Qingdao， I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit。 I was deeply touched by his honesty。 It has taught me a lot。 I think to err is human。 The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error。
